Hello World...It's been awhile!

Well we FINALLY got our new computer set up and I'm able to download my pictures on it! YEAH!  So I'm back in business.  I've missed being able to blog as I enjoy getting my thoughts down and putting pictures up of our precious little one.  Lots has happened over the past few weeks...where to begin (this might be one of many posts to catch up).

We have had many visitors over the past few weeks...its been nice having our friends and family over to see Eliza.  We continue to be blessed with wonderful people in our lives who we know will give unconditional love and support to Liza.  Here are a few pictures of some visitors :)

It's hard to believe our little girl is over a MONTH old!  We have loved EVERY.SECOND of having her our life.  She has taught us so much in the past month and we love her so much.  Eliza is eating about every three hours during the day and usually goes to bed after her last feeding around 10-10:30.  She typically sleeps a good 4-5 hour stint before waking up again (and we've had our first night of her sleeping all the way through--although Momma woke up a few times to check on her since she didn't hear her wrestling around).  She has great head/neck strength and some strong legs as she's always moving and kicking them when she's being changed.  She makes good eye contact and loves sitting up to look around at what's going on.  We recently went to the doctor and she went from weighing 9 lbs. 15 oz. at her two week checkup to weighing 11 lbs. 10 oz. at 5 weeks!  She's a good eater!  Daddy gave Liza her first bottle as well.  We had some hard times with the bottle at first, but after changing to a different kind Liza does much better (which has made Daddy's stress levels much better!).  She is also starting to take a pacifer, but needs some assistance with holding it in her mouth at first.  

At a little over a month old, she also has gotten an infection :(  Being a first time parent, I was so nervous hearing her cough and being congested that I insisted we take her to the doctor to make sure her lungs were clear and it was truly just an infection.  My nerves were put to (a little) ease when the doctor confirmed an infection and gave us suggestions on things to do to help her through it.  We are fortunate she didn't get a fever and has been eating well.  It's just so hard to see your little one miserable and not being able to do anything about it (as I'm sure many of you parents out there know and feel or have felt!).

More to come as we also had our first road trip to Decatur to see Nonni, Papa Moo, Lala, and Uncle T, as well as meeting Great Grandma Jewell and taking another four generation picture!
