Diaper size: 3--We finally switched up to size 3 diapers. Size 2 were pretty snug :)
Clothing: Eliza is wearing 6-9 month clothes, which can be pretty snug and not always long enough. So she comfortably wears 9 month clothes.
Teeth: She cut her two bottom teeth around 6 1/2 months and during her 7th month she cut her right top central incisor as well as right top lateral incisor. It looks a little funny with the two bottom and then one top center and one side one! Oh well...I can't believe how many teefers she has! She has actually been a pretty good girl throughout it all. We haven't used any oragel to ease the pain as she's really not that fussy. Teething just makes her super drooly, very clingy-which Mommy doesn't mind, and probably the worst of it all is that it effects her sleep at night. She ends up waking 1-2 times during the night when she is teething. Mommy and Daddy can definitely feel it the next day when Liza has gotten up a few times in the night. Oh well.
Food/Eating: Eliza LOVES to eat! She eats three meals a day and continues to get nursed and receive some supplemental formula feedings. She loves to have oatmeal with some sort of fruit mid-morning (typically prunes, bananas, or pears). I continue to walk over to my sitter's house at lunch time to nurse around noon. Then she eats lunch around 1:30ish, which is some sort of veggie and fruit. I nurse her again when we get home (around 4:30-5ish) and then she eats her dinner with Mommy and Daddy with one more nursing session before we put her down for bed. She loves peas, mango, smashed bananas, applesauce, green beans and potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots. Towards the end of her 7th month, we started "puffs." She L-O-V-E-S puffs! No seriously, she will go through containers weekly as we give them to her as little snacks here and there and when we're out and about. There hasn't been a flavor she won't eat (banana, apple, green veggies-spinach, kale). They can be a lifesaver at times too! Formula feedings usually follow her breakfast and lunch and are usually 2-3 oz. She does well with a bottle, which makes life easier too!
Sleep: Well with teething, sleep is still inconsistent. We have good weeks and then not-so-good weeks. I've learned to not brag about the nights she sleeps through as those are usually followed by one's where we wake up 1-2 times. We get Eliza down for bed usually by 8:30, but some nights it varies depending on what we have going on. Honestly, some nights she is just not tired to be put down by 8:30 so Mommy and Daddy will soak up a little more play time with her. Liza may cat nap for 30-45 minutes in the morning, but her long nap is in the afternoon. It amazes me how quickly this schedule changed when I went back to work. Oh well. As long as she gets A GOOD NAP in--we are happy. She usually goes down for an afternoon nap around 2/2:30 and will sleep til 4 or a little after if I let her. Typically when I get to the sitter's house, she has started to open the curtains and try to stir her up, but Eliza is a sound sleeper and until she hears me walk through the door she will sleep. I think the solid afternoon naps=better sleep at night, but again that can change in an instant. She loves her pink/white polka-dot blanket in her crib when she's at home and when she is in a deep sleep she will stretch both arms out to the sides or up in the formation of "TOUCHDOWN." HA! She sleeps on her back, on her side, or sometimes on her tummy. She's a mover like her Mommy and also gets warm like Mommy does too.
Look what I can do/Accomplishments:jumperoo-this girl should have a mean vertical by the way she jumps in it!, loves looking at herself in the mirror, loves grabbing anything she can to hit, tear, or throw, loves being on her feet to "stand", loves being held facing out so she can see what's going on around her, loves bath time and splashing in the tub-Mommy and Daddy end up more wet than she is at times, loves clapping her hands, and loves her Little Bea book.
Jumpy, jumpy, jumpy!
Can you hear me? Speech- Of course I have to address this area! I'm constantly listening to her to see what she's doing. She continues to babble-A LOT. Still doing the /m/, /b/, /p/, /d/ sounds. Will say /Mama/ and as much as I love hearing her say it-it's not intentional yet :( Recognizes who mommy, daddy, and Chief are. She knows when she hears the door open of an evening that Daddy is home and will smile and clap her hands when he comes up the stairs. Has really found her tongue this month. Sticks it out and wiggles it around. Loves doing raspberries with her lips or tongue. We continue to do sign language with her. She understands the signs for "eat," "milk," and "more." We also sign bath, Mommy, Daddy, no, book, sleep, drink/bottle, and all done. We try to read at least two books to her nightly before bed and has lots of books read to her at the sitter's house. She will do a little imitating with some of her sounds, but this doesn't happen frequently yet.
Places I've been/What we've been up to: This month has been busy (like all of them!). Eliza went to see her cousin Jack play in a national baseball tournament, helped Mommy celebrate her 30th birthday, went to the park with Mommy, Daddy, and Chief and even went down the slide a few times, as well as in the swing, went to a Labor Day BBQ at Grandma and Papa's house with aunts, uncles, and cousins, and took in her second Bears game (the first was in the hospital when she was 3 days old!). We also started swim classes at the YMCA. Eliza is the youngest in her class, but she enjoys watching all the kids splash around and does some splashing herself. She is doing well in the water and has floated on her tummy and back, practiced kicking her legs, and grab her swim toy floating in the water. We look forward to it every Wednesday night!

Eliza is such a happy girl and is always smiling, laughing, and "chatting." She is such a good girl when we are out running errands and enjoys observing all that is going on around her. She now sits in the shopping cart and thoroughly enjoys strolling up and down the aisles! Our hearts continue to grow (if possible) with love for our baby girl and we truly thank God daily for blessing us with such an amazing baby girl. We can't wait to watch her grow and develop each month! We love you Eliza Marie!
